Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to commonly asked questions here.
Contact us you have questions specific to your family or your situation.

What makes PRI+ different from other programs?

At PRI+, our coaches collaborate to create a personalized program to work with your family.  We understand what you are experiencing and the struggles your family is having.  We recognize that your child is unique.  The PRI+ program incorporates four main tenents: intgration of primitive reflexes, hemispheric balance, nutrition and supplementation, and parent coaching.  In addition, we utilize cold laser technology to produce faster results.  We provide lasting solutions for your child and your family.

How much does the program cost and do you accept insurance?

We start with an evaluation for your child to see if we are a good fit for your goals.  The evaluation cost is $249.  The cost of the full program can vary, depending on the results of the evaluation.  At this time, we do not accept any insurance plans. However, we do have payment options available.

How long does the program last?

Our program is designed to be completed in eight consecutive weeks, with two sensory motor sessions in our office per week.  Parent coaching sessions are weekly and can be in persion or virtual.  Most children are able to meet program goals in eight weeks.  Additional sensory motor and parent coaching packages are available if necessary.

What does the program involve?

PRI+ is a completely non-invasive program that increases your child’s capacity to learn.  We do a variety of exercises to integrate primitive reflexes, strengthen core muscles, improve coordination (gross motor, fine motor, and bilateral integration), and to improve hemispheric balance. Weekly Parent Coaching sessions are designed to assist the family with adapting to the changes you will see in your child. We will discuss your family’s diet and eating patterns and provide solutions to incorporate healthy habits into your daily life. We will be right there with you to address all of the challenges as they arise.

This program is not easy. However, it is simple, and it is life-changing.

What kind of results do you see?

We see kids who are calmer, have more confidence and better self-awareness, and have fewer meltdowns and tantrums. They are more focused and willing to try new things. They are better able to adapt to changes in their routines and unexpected events. They are happier and healthier.

Is this just for kids with autism, AD/HD, or special needs?

This program is designed to target the root of most sensory, behavioral, and social challenges, regardless of diagnosis.

Is PRI+ like tutoring?

We are not a tutoring center at all. Tutoring typically focus on specific acedemic goals for students who are behind or need extra help at school.  The results we achieve from primitive reflex integration and sensory motor activities allows the brain to relax so the child is better able to learn.  Once a child completes our program, we may recommend follow up services at a tutoring center to help with any academic gaps your child may have.

What is Cold Laser Therapy?

Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue that is damaged and helps repair it by ‘jump starting’ and accelerating the healing process.

What are the differences between hot lasers and cold lasers?

In reality, there are two types of medical lasers: high power and low power. High power lasers are used to cut through tissue, burn or vaporize tissue. High power lasers are also known as hot lasers, surgical lasers, or Class IV lasers. These lasers emit more than 2,000 mw of power and are potentially dangerous. These lasers, for example, are used during arthroscopic knee surgery.

We do not use hot lasers or Class IV lasers in our office because these lasers have the potential to burn you.

Hot lasers should not be confused with low power lasers or cold lasers. In addition, don’t be confused by the term low power. Low-power does not mean that they are ineffective or not as powerful as hot lasers. On the contrary, it simply means that they operate at a power that does not have the potential to harm the tissue. Low power lasers or cold lasers can be broken down further and are classified as Class I, II, IIIA, or IIIB lasers. Only IIIB lasers emit between 5mw and 2,000 mw of power and can stimulate tissue repair and healing without burning or harming. Every IIIB laser has a different power and wavelength. It is important that the appropriate laser is used for your condition. Anything below a IIIB classification is too low, and has not been proven to penetrate below the skin’s surface.  PRI+ uses only IIIB lasers.

Is Cold Laser Therapy safe and are there any side effects?

Cold Laser Therapy is considered to be non-invasive, painless, and very safe.

Cold Lasers have been used internationally for over three decades. The first Cold Laser was FDA Cleared in 2001 in the United States. In all this time there have been no long term side-effects from its use. Very few patients experience short term soreness after the first treatment (just as you would if you started a new exercise routine). However, most patients don’t experience any soreness. Instead they begin to notice a sense of improvement and relief.

How do I get started and schedule and evaluation?

To schedule an evaluation, please call us at 720.295.5788. Once we have the results of the evaluation, we will sit down with you and discuss the best options for how we can help.
